Literature Text

I didn’t take all this intoxication,
Just to see myself roll over lifeless.
Overdose on this death wish inclination.
I’ll never go back I said, yet here I am breathless.

Mouth leaving the glassware made so passionately.
Artistic feeling rises inside of my mind indeterminable.
The emptiness burns away just as my brain cells pop effortlessly.
Taking the fourth hit of the night just to hope for one more sensible.

It’s bad to romanticize any of this,
Even if it isn’t really happening in my hands.
Hold it in close and let it all go, the best time of your life.
Then the few years down the line watch it all sink into the sands.

Time is an illusion that is barring my path to enlightenment.
You’d think that for the seconds as you realize the wrinkles.
Lungs burnt black and ashen from the residue of abandonment.
Passing out on the nearest resting spot for an eternity in shambles.

So before that ever really happens,
I’ll remind myself that I don’t need the rush anymore.
From the tabs, pills, drinks, smoke, remaining past actions.
I won’t end up as another case of an unfortunate way to go, nevermore.
Decided to write a poem about drugs and addictions for those who have troubles with it.
Was able write this bit in about 10 minutes after the typical surfing and search for inspiration.

Then I stumbled upon this song and began the write:

Enjoy :)
